Carbide Tipped Hand Tool Usage

All Hardtip Tools will cut efficiently if the carbide is kept sharp and dressed to retain the correct shape. An 80 grit green silicon carbide grinding wheel is recommended for this. The heads on hand tools are hardened to allow moderate upsetting from the blows of the hand hammer.  This upsetting should be kept dressed away to avoid chipping of the steel. Bicknell Supply Company recommends safety glasses be worn when using hand tools.
